All it takes is one PD spot test (duration: 5-10 minutes) to reliably assess the current condition of your system.
NEW: VDS-C VDS PD coupler
The new VDS PD coupler VDS-C offers an additional innovative accessory for the BAUR liona that many network operators have needed for years. This small device makes it possible to measure partial discharge on medium-voltage cables without the need to switch off cable routes.
Up until now, network operators have had two options for testing medium-voltage cables for partial discharge using BAUR equipment: offline measurement or online measurement using HFCT sensors. However, on many cables, attaching and removing the HFCT sensors requires the cables to be briefly taken out of operation. There is no need to any downtime with the VDS PD coupler as the sensors are directly attached.
The main advantage to PD sport testing with the VDS-C is the ability to quickly check cables without the need to disconnect them from the mains. The initial check allows you to check the condition of all cables in no time at all – even for critical cable routes that would be costly to disconnect.
